Our High Schoolers have safely returned from their field trip to the Sangaredi Mines and have been sharing stories about their experience. Students visited various mining sites owned by both local Guinean and internationally-based mining companies. They also had hands-on learning opportunities during their trip where they helped with the construction and installation of solar panels and water tanks in a local village. After their work under the hot sun, they relaxed in the refreshing pool and participated in a friendly soccer match. As the saying goes, work hard – play hard! Thank you to our chaperones, Mr. Kaufman, Ms. Payne, Mr. Traore, and Mr. Manberg for your adventurous spirit, and a very special thanks to Mr. Fagan for making this unforgettable field trip possible! A field trip is not only fun, it’s one of the most valuable tools a school can use to provide students with real-world experiences. Have a field trip idea that aligns with our mission to develop intellectually audacious, socially responsible citizens of the world? We’d love to hear from you!
